Apple agrees to pay the $200 million dollar budget of Scorsese’s new film.
Martin Scorsese was having trouble financing another epic. He was looking all over for someone to partner with him and Paramount for Killers of the Flower Moon, which, according to Variety, had a budget of around $200 million dollars.
Well, Scorsese has once again found a partner in streaming.
Apple will come in to help pay for the movie which Paramount will distribute theatrically.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro are set to star in the project, which is based on the 2017 true-crime book “Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI.” The story centers on members of an Oklahoma Native American tribe, whose murders in the 1920s sparked a major federal investigation.
This is not the first time Scorsese and Paramount have clashed. They also fought over the $173 million dollar movie, The Irishman, which was nominated for several Academy Awards and was put into production by Netflix.
